Technology Safety

This presentation will explore the intersection between technology and domestic violence and help participants gain an understanding of how technology can be misused to stalk, monitor, and harass survivors of domestic violence.  Topics will include privacy on the internet, social media, surveillance, cell phone risks, and methods for safe use of technology. This event is free and open to the public! Special Guest Presenter: Sharon Doncourt, Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence

C.A.R.E. Auxiliary Meeting

Car Wash to Benefit C.A.R.E.

Roger Eaton, Clerk of Circuit Court and County Comptroller, is sponsoring a car wash to benefit the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies! The event will be hosted at Charlotte State Bank in Punta Gorda, and the suggested donation is just $6! All proceeds go directly to C.A.R.E.  

Green Dot Active Bystander Training

Purple Pinwheel Sunday

As you drive around Charlotte County, you may notice several churches with purple pinwheels on display. These pinwheels represent the need to raise awareness and work toward putting an end to domestic violence. In Her Shoes (Simulation Workshop)

Ever wonder what exactly a woman experiences when she flees an abusive relationship? This simulation takes you through a variety of challenges a survivor faces during her journey: housing, children, church, courthouse, medical, employment, returning home, friends and family… the list goes on.   We encourage everyone (men AND women) to come and share this powerful experience. Lunch is provided.
