Human Trafficking

Modern day slavery, a.k.a. Human Trafficking is widespread in the State of Florida. Trafficking can happen to anyone but some people are more vulnerable than others. Significant risk factors include recent migration or relocation, substance use, mental health concerns, involvement with the child welfare system and being a runaway or homeless youth. Often, traffickers identify and leverage their victims’ vulnerabilities in order to create dependency. Join C.A.R.E. on Thursday, January 12,  9am-noon for the Human Trafficking Symposium, “Shedding Light on the Darkness” at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center.
